TRAVAIL AUTONOME - 5 suggestions

Studying French in a class is not enough to pass with stars and become fluent on paper and orally. Here are some ideas to consolidate your French and extend you knowledge.

2. Combine French and your hobbies:
- Computing / IT: Create your own blog or website to post anything related to French culture that you find interesting.
- Cooking: look up recipes for biscuits/cakes in French. Why not cook some traditional French cakes like Madeleines or a Tarte Tatin?
- Sports: if you have a French-speaking coach, choose French as the language of communication
- Art: Look up French artists and read French reviews on their art, visit on-line French Art galleries
- Reading: You can start with abridged classics (shortened and simplified), “bandes dessinées” (illustrated graphic novels), Easy Readers (adapted texts with vocabulary notes). For recommended readers and authentic novels, click here.

> Shopping: do some virtual shopping on French fashion / sports gear / digital equipment websites. You don't have to buy, you can just put in your basket and then forget about it!

3. Research people, places, monuments, museums, festivals, etc mentioned in class to develop your knowledge of contemporary French society. You don’t have to do in-depth research, but just write 10 lines, in simple French (even bullet points), with a couple of photos to illustrate (they will be nice document to look at again later on).
