She lost marks in the oral and written sections because of insufficient learning and inaccurate handling of verbs & tenses. She was issued with vocabulary flashcards for revision and further material is available on www.tremplinfle.com. Consolidation will be crucial for a sound start in September.

- has worked hard in and out of lessons, making sound progress. She has used resources well and has had a satisfactory understanding of the material covered. Her oral skills are developing slowly but she still lacks confidence. She needs to work on this following the guidance and doing the suggested activities on TremplinFLE. Her written work reveals interferences with English, so it is important that she read in the target language to develop ''a feel'' for sentence constructions in French. - has had a very productive term. He has worked with much interest and motivation and his contributions to lessons have been excellent. He can always be relied upon to ask pertinent questions and without him lessons are not the same. His free-writing is improving, as he incorporates new words and phrases into his answers. His oral fluency has developed nicely. Well done. I am impressed by his commitment. A target for next term is to review and learn my suggestions on his corrected work. - has continued to study purposefully. She freely participates in lessons and her writing is improving. She certainly tries to experiment with the language and applies herself to use new words and phrases. Her preps are always completed on time and to a very good standard. She has coped well with challenging material. Over the summer she should read the French press, extend her vocabulary base and review the corrections to her mistakes in written work. I have been so impressed by her effort. - has continued to work well. His written work shows a solid mastery of grammar generally, but he tends to remain in the safe zone, not experimenting with new words and expressions. He is silently focused in lessons, and although he engages with the material under study, he rarely participates. This has to be a target for next year, as asking questions and contributing to discussion will enable him to shape his thoughts and develop his ideas in more depth. A productive year which bodes well. - has not been fully engaged this term. In terms of work in lessons she is generally keeping up with the pace of the set but sometimes struggles with more difficult texts. She has missed quite a lot of lessons and that has had an impact on her progress. She does need to consolidate her grammar and expand her vocabulary base. Some careful reviewing of the term's work over the holidays would be most beneficial. A change of attitude and work ethic is needed if she is to reach her potential. - has continued to work purposefully. She has used resources well and has had a very good understanding of the material covered. Her oral skills are developing slowly but she still lacks confidence. She needs to work on her oral fluency following the guidance and doing the suggested activities on TremplinFLE. She has much more to offer and needs to change her mindset: she needs to raise her standards and work towards excellence instead of remaining in the safe zone. |
